Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe celebrated his full England debut in style as he weighed in with a goal and an assist on the way to a big victory over hosts San Marino on Monday night in what’s a World Cup qualifier in Group I of the UEFA section.
England were able to secure a big win over the Albanians in their penultimate World Cup qualifier in Group I ahead of Qatar 2022. The Euro 2020 finalists edged closer to securing a Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup spotwith the home victory against Albania.
The Three Lions were able to seal their place in Qatar with a record win at San Marino. Arsenal star Smith-Rowe was handed his full debut by England manager Gareth Southgate and he had a hand in two goals as the Three Lions thumped San Marino 10-0. Smith-Rowe provided the fourth England goal scored by Tottenham Hotspurstar Harry Kane before he scored the seventh England goal on 58 minutes.
Just like what’s obtainable with Smith-Rowe, Arsenal teammate Bukayo Saka was also on the scoresheet. Apart from Kane (four goals), Saka and Smith-Rowe, other England goalscorersduring the game were Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings, FilippeFabbri (own goal), AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham and Manchester United centre back Harry Maguire.
Smith-Rowe has grown in leaps and bounds since he was introduced into the Arsenal starting XI at the end of last year. His attacking output of four goals and two assists in the league earned him an invitation to the England senior national team setup.
