YOUNG PLAYERS ARE PRIORITY

Although Arsene Wenger is all set to receive a huge amount of money to spend in the transfer market by the Arsenal board but, he says that his priority will still be to spot young players with potential and give them opportunities.

The Arsenal academy has always produced some great young players and Wenger has a lot to do with that. He is very good at spotting talents.

Talking to the reporters on this topic yesterday, the Gunners boss said, “If you trust them (the young players) and give them opportunities, they will be keen to repay you. Also, they feel secure and remain loyal to the club. So, these are the advantages.”

“Off course, everyone wants to have success and we are no different, but, we don’t want to have success only with the help of superstars. We make sure that the emerging talents get enough opportunities to prove themselves at a bigger stage.”

Wenger hasn’t had too many trophies under his belt during his tenure at the Emirates Stadium so far, but, still, he is widely respected among the fans of the club. Most of them want him to sign a new deal and stay for a few more years. The Frenchman had actually looked like ending his trophy drought this season as the Gunners were in a very good position in the league table till January, but, some injuries hindered their progress and the bitter truth is that they are struggling even for the Champions League qualification at this point of time.

They are currently at no. 4 in the league points table with 64 points in 32 games. Everton is pretty close to them. The Toffees have 60 points and they have played one game lesser than Arsenal.
