Cavani and Reus linked with Arsenal

Arsenal is a club that seems to be always linked with a number of potential signings as Arsene Wenger is continuously trying to increase the quality of the squad and hopefully do something that the club has not managed to do in a long period of time, win major trophies.

Arsene Wenger is not only attempting to bring new talent to the Emirates Stadium in order to boost the quality of the team but also to have enough players at his disposal in case if injuries start popping up which is actually something that has not stopped and has become a serious problem for the Premier League club not only in this season but previous ones as well.

Olivier Giroud, Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Mathieu Debuchy, Nacho Monreal, Yaya Sanogo and Serge Gnabry are all of the players that are either out injured or have recently been suffering from physical problems in the squad of Arsene Wenger.

Some of the players that have been more recently linked with Arsenal are Marco Reus and Edinson Cavani.

Edinson Cavani is believed to be unhappy in PSG as he has to stand in the shadows of Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the Swedish attacker is the main goal-scoring machine of the French club and the team is usually being revolved around Ibrahimovic. It remains unclear if Wenger would be interested in signing another striker after having already secured the services of Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sancheza few months ago but if Cavani is offered at a low price, it could attract the interest of Arsene Wenger.

Marco Reus is one of the other high profile players which is being watched not only by Arsenal but a number of clubs around Europe. It’s rumored that Marco Reus does not want to extend his contract with Borussia Dortmund which means that the German midfielder could be available to sign in June and the 26 years old player already has a line of clubs eager on launching offers for him including: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Athletic Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea and more recently Liverpool.

It seems unlikely that Arsenal would be able to compete in the monetary scale against some of the other clubs who have been known to offload huge amounts of cash in order to sign their targets but maybe Arsenal can make a surprise move for Reus when he becomes available and sign him just how they did with Mesut Ozil where they paid €42.5 million and signed the German midfielder on a 5 year long contract.
