Wenger rubbishes Balotelli to Arsenal reports

Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal manager has rubbished claims about the club’s interest in madcap Italian striker Mario Balotelli claiming that the links run in the media is works of pure fiction.

The Italian international has been mooted for a sensational return to the Premier League, a possibility that was first talked up by the Italian player’s agent, Mino Raiola. There have also been claims that the Gunners have also held talks with the player’s present club AC Milan, over a summer transfer for the player.

With the Italian club’s Vice President Barbara Berlusconi claiming that the Italian is not irreplaceable at the club, it was thought the Wenger would get his star striker and add a player of mercurial talent to his squad as he looks to end a decade long wait for the Premier League title.

However, now, amid reports that a deal between the two clubs, mooted to be around the £ 27 million mark, is edging closer, the Arsenal manager has denied claims that he was ever interested in signing the player who had a tumultuous two and half years at Manchester City.

When asked about the possibility of Balotelli playing for the club next season, the Frenchman said that it was nothing but invention from the media.

He went on to add that it is not always right to believe what is on the internet or in the papers, because sometimes, these are created by the agents of certain players or by the journalists who need news. However, in this case, it is definitely not the truth.

The Arsenal is known for his hard faced approach to any potential transfer target, denying any move before it actually goes through and this denial does not come as a surprise as Balotelli is hardly the kind of player Wenger usually works with.

Wengar Confident In Continued Arsenal Management

The future of Arsene Wenger in the club has been under a lot speculation for the past few weeks and even months as the French coach have not secured a single piece of major silverware since 2005 when Arsenal won the FA Cup.

Things may change for Arsenal and Wenger on May 17th when they play against Hull City in the finals of the FA Cup. Many people started to believe that the French coach would only initiate talks about his contract with the club after the finals of the FA Cup was played but Wenger confirmed that despite what the outcome of that match is, he will remain in charge of Arsenal’s squad.

“I’ve said many times my word is my word. I’m from a period where you didn’t need a pen to commit. You will see me again. It’s not linked to the FA Cup final. It was important, of course, to be in the Champions League that’s for sure. I’ve had no moments of doubt. If I had moments of doubt it would have been a few years ago when I had to say no to many offers and commit to this club and I was under a lot of pressure.” Wenger said.

This past season has seen Arsenal dropping from the top of the Premier League to the 4th spot but Wenger remains hopeful of what’s to come for the club as they managed to get into the Champions League and finished the campaign by securing a 2-0 triumph against Norwich in the last match of the season. This victory against Norwich was the 5th consecutive victory for Arsenal after they had already grabbed crucial successive wins over West Ham United, Hull, Newcastle United and West Bromwich.

DIG DEEP

Arsene Wenger has stated that his team had to dig deep in order to get the 3-1 win over West Ham. The victory has put Arsenal as once again favourites for the top four. The club had been fighting with Everton for this position, but poor form in the last few weeks has let them down.

Everton appeared to be the favourites to finish in the top four after a string of victories including the 3-0 win over Arsenal. The 4-2 win on penalties over Wigan in the FA Cup semi-final appears to have motivated Arsenal once again, as they looked brilliant against West Ham. Continue reading DIG DEEP
