Wright wants Costa

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has suggested that Arsenal sign Chelsea striker Diego Costa.

He said that Alexis Sanchez might be leaving the club during the summer and that Diego Costa might be an ideal replacement for him.

This can be a controversial signing when we know the rivalry that exists between the two London club, but this will not be the first time that there are transfers between both clubs. Gallas and Cech are all players that have moved from Chelsea to Arsenal and Costa might be an interesting signing for the Gunners.

Alexis Sanchez has hinted that he might be leaving the club during the summer and it appears that Bayern Munich is the most interested club at the moment.

Ian Wright said that Alexis Sanchez is an important member of the team and that he needs to be replaced if ever he decides to leave the club during the transfer window. He believes that Diego Costa would be a great replacement and that Wenger should make a move for the player. Continue reading Wright wants Costa

Is Arsenal preparing replacements for Alexis Sanchez?

Alexis Sanchez has without doubt been the standout Arsenal player of the season so far.

The Chilean player has scored 18 goals and provided his teammates with 9 assists in 27 appearances. Sanchez is not only the top goal-scorer of Arsenal but also the top assister and there are rumors going on suggesting that the future of Alexis Sanchez might be reaching it’s end with the Premier League club.

The contract of Sanchez will be expiring in 2018 and if rumors are indeed true, he has recently had a number of confrontations with some of his teammates and there are a few key figures that want to see the Chilean player leaving the Emirates Stadium and might be leaving by the end of the current season.

If Alexis Sanchez is indeed developing an unhealthy relationship with a few influential figures in Arsenal, this could be the chance that other interested clubs need in order to come in and secure the services of the Chilean player who has recently been performing at a world-class level. Ozil’s future depend on Wenger

He has denied rumors that the contract talks are stalling because of a salary issue and said that he is more concerned about the Frenchman’s future.

Arsene Wenger’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, and so far there is no sign that the manager will sign a contract extension. The manager said that it would all depend on where the team finishes at the end of the season.

Arsene Wenger has been the target of intense criticism recently with some fans asking for a replacement at the head of the club. However, Arsene Wenger has stated that he is not affected by criticism and that he will stay until the end of his contract. Continue reading Ozil’s future depend on Wenger

Arsene Wenger has installed a ‘’injury reducing pitch’’

It has recently been revealed that the training grounds of Arsenal have sustained a big change as a new technology has been established which is expected to reduce the amount of injuries that the players of Arsenal sustain for the long term future.

When it comes to being injured, Arsene Wenger and his squad are no strangers to that as Arsenal FC is probably one of the Premier League clubs that have to deal with the most amount of injured players and this is something that does not occur on a few particular years but it’s a ongoing trend that continued to happen and has seriously hampered the clubs’ chances of snatching the Premier League as well as many other big pieces of silverware.

Ian Wright is a former Arsenal player who has played with various English clubs including: Crystal Palace and West Ham United as well as performing for the England national football team and he has recently talked about this injury problem of Arsenal as the retired footballer went on to say:

“For me, that has got to have something to do with it. We’re in London, close to the top, top surgeons and doctors in the world. With the facilities we have got at the training ground it is worrying how many injuries we get and how long it takes out players to get back. If the training ground is hard and players have said it then they have got to look at that. With the players Arsenal are signing at the moment you want to make sure you can keep them on the pitch as often as you can.”

WENGER HAILS WALCOTT AGAINST WATFORD

Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has hailed the performance of England international Theo Walcott after their 3-1 relaxed win over Watford in the third round of games in the Premier League.

The Frenchman has defended the player several times when fans pressure him to push out the longest serving player in the team.

“I said before the season started that we will get a different Theo Walcott this year. If he can maintain that focus, that desire and that fighting attitude, then he will have a great season,” a proud Wenger said. Walcott was brilliant during the game, helping with the attack.

In the season’s first game against Liverpool, he controlled the ball well before scoring the first for Arsenal this term. He has been decent in the other two games in the Premier League so far. He missed a penalty, but Santi Cazorla didn’t, scoring the penalty to get the Gunners first against Watford. Walcott was close to adding the second in quick succession as he caught unto a Cazorla pass but Heurelho Gomez saved it from scoring using his feet.

Watford threatened as Amrabat moved past Nacho Monreal but it didn’t quite happen. Sanchez moved to add the second but Gomes saved it again. Walcott got an assist as Sanchez latched onto his 40th minute cross, sending the ball to the net. Goal line technology came to immediate rescue as many were not sure if the ball had entered at first.

Walcott remained impressive at the right flank, as his attempt was saved by Gomes yet again. It was not long before Arsenal compounded the woes of the hosts as Sanchez sent a well timed cross to the head of Mesut Ozil who was running into the box. Ozil headed the ball home, leaving the defence shocked.

Roberto Pereyra came in the second half as a substitute to score the only goal for Watford in the 57th minute. Wenger added that he hopes Walcott wouldn’t suffer any setback to his brilliant season thus far. “I hope he has no setback because he is an intelligent player, he is focused and has a great desire to prove his critics wrong and he’s on a good way,” Wenger said.

ARSENAL STILL LINKED WITH MOVE FOR LACAZATTE

Even after Arsenal were humbled by Liverpool at home in the first game of the season, coach Arsene Wenger said that the management were working hard to get one or two more players in.

It’s been a difficult few years for the French manager as his approval ratings fast erode, but Wenger is still optimistic of his young and inexperienced squad. Olympique Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette remains a long term target for the Gunners and there The Guardian reports that there is new evidence that the move will happen as Arsenal need a centre back and a striker badly. Lacazette scored a hat trick against Nancy in the French Ligue 1 in the opening weekend of the season. The player has admitted that if a big money move comes that he could not refuse, he would not.

Another player on Arsenal’s radar is Mario Lemina who’s with Serie A champions Juventus. The player originally belongs to Marseille and the rumoured bid of €16 million from the Premier League giant would likely not be enough. The Bianconeri want at least €4 million more with other clubs like Schalke interested.
